The particular immunodeficient mice that were used were the NOD/SCID mouse (non-obese diabetic/excessive conditional immunodeficient). These mutations allow for the integration of latest xenograft tissue. The mouse should first have their mammary fats pads humanized with the aid of injecting human telemorase-immortalized human mammary stromal fibroblasts(RMF/EG fibroblasts) into the mammary fat pads.
